wow. i really like this "wish you were here" stila online campaign.of course, i may be a tad bit biased because i've been a stila cosmetics fan forever *smile*... but when i first saw the landing page of this campaign, i literally went "wow!" :) me likey!
stila has been a little boring in recent years, and honestly i don't expect even this new campaign to revive much of the dwindling interests from the general public. BUT i just gotta give special mention to this because it really is quite something i've not seen from the regular cosmetics brand for a while now. i like how simple, integrated, cute and fun this whole idea is..so, follow Kylie (the 1st virtual stila girl) on her road trip in U.S.A, then meet other virtual stila girls in other countries - France, Russia, Japan, Fiji - along the way, and pick up more awesome new deals too!to kickstart the trip, get your hands on this lovely compact palette (worth US$65) for only... earlier this year, i'd mentioned briefly about the launch of the barbie loves stila makeup range. the first items included the retro signature stila paintcans with 3-pan palettes and lipglosses. very pretty items but i wouldn't say they are must-haves. quite regular, safe colours.. kinda average. and as much as i love stila's products (and like the idea of barbie + stila mashup), this collection just didn't really get to me....
not until i saw this latest barbie loves stila all doll'd up palette, that is :)
stila used to be my all-time favourite cosmetic brand. i remember those days when i always had to make a stop at the CK Tang stila counter at least once every month just to check out their new collections. stila was so fun and quirky then, their eyeshadow and lip palettes came in all shapes and patterns, various designs, themes and styles. even though their colours were usually the standard pinks/browns, olives/greens, plums/purples, blues/greys... their pretty packaging never failed to draw attention. then they got a little boring since being acquired by Estee Lauder companies, and subsequently by Sun Capital Partners.
so i'm glad they're finally trying something a little different this time - 4-pan trios.
each of these refillable pans in this palette is a tri-coloured eyeshadow (so cute!). thus instead of 4 regular shadows, you get to mix and match between 12 different beautiful shades in one compact case! i really like the idea - simple, clean and practical. and best of all, priced at USD28 (for a USD96 value)... this palette is easy on the pocket too!
i wonder if the tiny counter at CK Tang will bring this in (and retain the affordable price)... if not, anyone wanna spree? ;)

i thought i've somewhat gotten over my "makeup phase" but looks like i still can't quite shake away my penchant for prettily packaged, special tie-ups makeup collections.stila is one of my all time favourite makeup brand, though recent years its popularity has been slowly dwindling away in singapore, now left with only 1 tiny counter tucked in a small corner at CK tangs. following its love affair with M.A.C cosmetics in barbie loves M.A.C 2007, mattel has now joined hands with yet another chic cosmetics brand to launch "barbie loves stila" - coming very soon - spring 2009! details and pictures on this collection are quite limited at the moment (pic. below features only the "foxy doll" - 1 of the 4 cans available), but i sure am keeping my eyes wide open to keep a lookout on the other sets that'll be offered - ponytail, malibu, jewel. i think i'd likely find 1 or 2 sets that i'm gonna love and have to have!!

meanwhile, the new precious pearl colour collection for spring 2009 looks very pretty too. the colour mix looks nice, sensible and very wearable... quite unlike their usual all blues, all pink/browns, all greens palette. something different, promising.
i wonder if these will all make it to on our shores.
PS: i didn't know there was a "stila for bebe" too.. "knockout purple" and "the starlet" each of these palettes features 3 single eyeshadows + 1 convertible colour (for lip/cheek). quite cute, but i'm not crazy over this ;) *phew*
